Islamabad: World Space Week 2015 (October 4 to 10) is being observed globally to highlight the great era of deep space discovery that we are in, and the theme of this year World Space Week is `Discovery’.
The event will highlight the importance of gaining unexplored knowledge of space and to develop an understanding to use the space technology for academic purpose.
Space telescopes, deep space probes and several interplanetary satellites and landers have shown us the magic, wonders and opportunities of new worlds.
Exo-planets, galaxies far away and close by and landings on planets, moons, asteroids and comets teach us about where we humans have come from and where we will go in the future. Space is all about Discovery.
This year theme will be a source of inspiration for World Space Week event in 2015. It is pertinent to mention that in 1999, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared October 4 to 10 to be the World Space Week each year.
