Preparations for centenary celebrations ceremony reviewed

PESHAWAR: The concluding ceremony of the centenary celebrations of the historic Islamia College Peshawar would be held from November 2 to 9. Eminent personalities from the province and rest of the country would participate in various programmes of the concluding week.
A meeting of different committees for the arrangements of the concluding ceremony was held with Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University (ICU) Muhammad Ajmal Khan in the chair.
In-charges of various committees, heads of teaching and non-academic departments, and office-bearers of senior alumni association attended the meeting.
They presented the progress reports of committees tasked with making arrangements for the concluding ceremony. The meeting asked the old students of Islamia College, Peshawar, to register themselves with the relevant committees for participation in the programmes.
They also asked the old students of college to contact the In-charge of Khyber Union Hall, if they had any rare photograph of their education life in the Islamia College.
The old students could also share written material to highlight the history and struggle of ICU towards promotion of education in the province. This material will be put on exhibition during the concluding ceremony.
Rich tributes were paid to the meritorious services of late Prof Jehanzeb Niaz, who breathed his last some time ago.
Fateha was offered for the departed soul of late professor of 1960 era, who was an icon of knowledge and light in the field of Pashto language and literature.
