The Anti-Corruption Department, Rawalpindi, has registered an FIR against Rawat Police Station SHO Asif Hayat Khan, who, in an investigation, was proven guilty of taking Rs100,000 as bribe.
The applicant, Faisal Ikhlas, filed an application in the Anti-Corruption Department, Rawalpindi, that the Rawat Police Station SHO took Rs100,000 as bribe to release a woman, Bilal Yameen, who was arrested in a theft case. The Rawat Police Station SHO was proven guilty in an investigation by the Anti-Corruption Department, Rawalpindi.
Director Anti-Corruption (Rawalpindi Region) Malik Tariq Raheem Haidri told ‘The News’ that the Rawat Police Station SHO arrested Bilal Yameen in a theft case. When the applicant, Faisal Ikhlas, a relative of Bilal Yameen, went to the SHO's office he demanded Rs100,000 as bribe. The applicant paid Rs100,000 to the SHO. The SHO demanded Rs10,00,000 for dropping the case against Bilal Yameen, he said.
He said after full investigation, the Rawat Police Station SHO was proven guilty and he ordered registration of an FIR against the police officer.
