Govt asked to bring back truckers stranded in Afghanistan

PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak asked the government to make arrangements for return of the stranded truckers from Spin Boldak area of Afghanistan.

He said that more than 1000 transporters from Khyber district had been stranded in Spin Boldak but the government had yet to take steps for their return.

Awami National Party (ANP) provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said the families of these people had been making appeals to government but it had not shown any interest in helping these transporters.

He said the government had failed on every front, including provision of healthcare and relief to the affected people. He said the expatriates had supported the incumbent government from the very beginning but it failed to address their problems.

Awami National Party provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said that all people who were stranded in other cities of the country or abroad should be safely returned to their homes.He asked the government to ensure that all people should reach their homes safely before the start of Ramazan. The ANP leader also requested media to play an effective role in highlighting the miseries of the stranded Pakistan.
