SUKKUR: The Sindh High Court, Circuit Bench Sukkur rejected the bail plea of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah and his son PPP MPA Syed Furrukh Shah in NAB's Rs1.23 billion reference.
While announcing the reserved verdict on Wednesday, the Special Bench comprising of Justice Amjad Ali Sahitto and Justice Shamusuddin Abbasidismissed the bail application of Syed Khursheed Shah and his son MPA Furrukh Shah.
The judgment was spread over 25 pages. The evidence brought on record established charges against Khursheed Shah for accumulating assets beyond known means of income. Talking to newsmen, Mukesh Kumar Karira, counsel of Syed Khursheed Shah, said the Special Bench had granted bail to 12 people including one of his sons, both the wives and his nephew the Sindh transport minister Syed Awais Qadir Shah.
The Special Bench directed the petitioners to surrender passports before the trial court. He said they would appeal in Supreme Court for getting bail to their clients. Khursheed Shah was arrested last year in September during a raid conducted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and police at his Islamabad residence.
