ISLAMABAD: In an important development, Prime Minister’s Military Secretary (MS) Brigadier Naseem Iftikhar Cheema has been transferred and Brigadier Muhammad Ahmad appointed as the new MS to the PM. Brigadier Muhammad Ahmad has assumed his new assignment at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). According to well-placed sources, the services of Brig Naseem Cheema have been reverted to the army and the same have been placed at the disposal of the Lahore Corps where he will be posted to command a brigade.
Brig Cheema served asMS to the PM for two and a half years against the tenure post of three years extendable to four years. He joined as MS to former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and continued with the caretaker and the current prime minister. He replaced Brigadier Akmal Aziz who served as MS to PM for less than four years before being posted to Sialkot to command a brigade. The AK-21 Regiment brilliant officer Muhammad Ahmad had a meeting with his predecessor here on Tuesday for debriefing.
