Plea to change returning officer

LAHORE
Advocate Munsif Awan, the candidate of by-election of NA-122, has filed an application in the Election Commission of Pakistan to change the returning officer.
The petitioner through his counsel alleged that returning officer Zahid Iqbal was misusing his powers as he was backing the candidates of the ruling party. The petitioner has also alleged that it was totally unjustified that an official of the ECP instead of observing impartiality in his services he is favouring the ruling party. He has requested the Chief Election Commissioner and Punjab Election Commissioner to remove him from the office for the sake of transparent elections.
