Islamabad : The Ministry of Forigen Affairs Thursday donated Personal Protection Equipment (PPEs) for doctors and post-graduate residents of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU), who are working in different departments of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi banded over essentially needed PPEs which included over 1,000 N95 masks and equal number of surgical masks, glass sheets for facial protection, and 150 plus high-grade surgical suites.
The donation was received by Vice Chancellor SZABMU Prof .Tanwir Khaliq, in the presence of the Excuitve Director of PIMS Prof. Ansar Maqsood, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood, and president and members of the Pakistan Foreign Office Women’s Association (PFWA).
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Ministry of Forigen Affairs building, the Foreign Minister said, Pakistan is fighting against COVID-19 as one nation, and this small donation of PPEs is a proof of the fact that the Foreign Ministry and its employees truly value the services of frontline health workers and doctors, who are at the forefront of fighting the pandemic. Prof. Khaliq thanked the Foreign Minister and PFWA for the generous donation.
