Islamabad :Islamabad Police on Monday arrested 10 outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered snatched mobile phones, narcotic and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said.
According to details, DIG (Operations) Waqar-Ud-Din Syed has directed all zonal officers to accelerate their efforts to curb the crime in the city. SP (Saddar) Muhammad Omer Khan constituted special teams consisting of Saddar Zone officers which accelerated their efforts and one of the police team under supervision of SDPO (Saddar) Khalid Mehmood Awan along with SHO Tarnol Inspector Arshad Ali, Sub-Inspector Tipu Sultan and others succeeded to arrest drug peddlers namely Moman Khan and recovered 1250 kilogram heroin from him. While Golra police team arrested two accused Daman Ali and Ghulam Hussain and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him.
Meanwhile Ramana police arrested two accused Zahoor-Ur-Rehman and Usman and recovered snatched mobile phone from their possession. Karachi Company two accused Arshad and William and recovered snatched mobile phone and two 30 bore pistol along with ammunition from their possession. Sabzi Mandi police arrested accused Abdul Basit and recovered 159 gram hashish from him.
Koral police arrested accused Akash and recovered one 30 bore pistol from him. Industrial-Area police arrested accused Muhammad Aamir violating section 144. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further Investigation is underway from them.
DIG (Operations) Waqar Ud din Syed has directed all Station House Officers for effective crackdown against that involvement in drug peddling activities. He asked for renewed efforts to curb such practices and get rid of society from such menace.
He said that Performance in this regard would be reviewed on continuous basis. He also directed for strict action against those involved in selling or flying kites, aerial firing and pigeon racing activities The DIG also categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving the public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.
