1,464 lockdown violators arrested in 15 days
The law enforcement agencies say they have arrested 1,464 citizens in Karachi for the violation of lockdown restrictions until its 15th day.
According to the Karachi police spokesperson, since the lockdown started on March 23 across the province, the Karachi police have so far registered 519 cases and arrested 1,464 citizens for the lockdown violations.
On the other hand, the deputy inspector general of police (DIGP) in south zone, Sharjeel Kharal, on Monday visited the police pickets set up in parts of the south zone. He informed the police personnel deputed at the police pickets about the instructions given by the higher authorities.
He directed them to implement the social distancing and ensure the use of sanitisers and masks. The DIG south also directed them to deal with the citizens politely.
