NA Speaker hails media role in fight against coronavirus
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaisar Saturday applauded the role of media in fight against coronavirus, saying that media's role in preventing the spread of the coronavirus is of paramount importance and media's responsible role in providing awareness against coronavirus pandemic is commendable.
“Pakistani media has been extremely responsible while reporting the spread of corona and in awareness campaign to prevent the spread of pandemic,” he expressed these views in a message commending the media representatives who have committed themselves on frontline in providing information and awareness to public against coronavirus.
Asad Qaisar said that the media's responsible role in preventing the coronavirus will always be remembered. He said that the media had indeed informed the public about the precautionary measures taken to prevent the spread of the virus.
The NA Speaker said that the country and the nation were going through a difficult time. He said that the government was taking serious steps regarding protection and welfare of the media representatives.
He said that government had made arrangements for media reporters reporting on the frontline to provide them protective clothing. “We should collectively pray for Allah Almighty to overcome this ordeal,” he said.
