Section 144 violators held from Rata Amral

Rawalpindi : Police taking prompt action against rioters in the limits of Rata Amral Police station registered case against violation of Section 144 and arrested scores of people here on Thursday.

Police Chowki Incharge Rata Amral stated that on call of Police Emergency number 15, police cordoned the area of Baba Roday Shah Darbar following the report of presence of dozens of people sitting aimlessly on ramps of shops and surrounding houses.

As police mobile reached there to disperse people, 40-50 people sitting near, Darbar Baba Roday Shah and at ramps of shops resisted the police action and also pelted stones at police mobile and at Police Chowki, Rata Amral. Resultantly, SSP Operations Tariq Wilayat and SP Rawal Division Rai Mazhar Iqbal accompanied by DSP City Circle also reached at the scene with heavy contingent of police force.

People use to sit aimlessly in wake of prevailing lockdown in the area in sheer violation of Section 144 and directives of Punjab government in wake of coronavirus pandemic, said Chowki Incharge Rata Amral. A case has been filed against the people for resisting police action.
