Police comments sought in torture case
LAHORE :An additional district and sessions court on Thursday sought comments from police on an interim bail application moved by one Rizwan Gujjar, accused of torturing and kidnapping a religious scholar, Nasir Madni.
The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Rafaqat Ali has directed Mozang police to submit report in this regard by April 16. The accused through his counsel moved his interim bail application contending that he is innocent and police have nominated him in a false case. He implored the court that he is ready to cooperate with investigators in any manner. After which, the court has sought report from police.
According to the case details, a case was registered against Rizwan and others over kidnapping and torturing religious scholar Nasir Madni under sections 395, and 392 of the Pakistan Penal Code, read with Section 18 of the Motion Pictures Ordinance.
