IHC seeks NAB reply on Omni Group head’s bail plea
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday sought a reply from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on a bail petition of Omni Group head Khawaja Anwar Majeed on medical grounds in the fake accounts reference.
The court also sought fresh medical report of Omni Group head on the next date of hearing.
A division bench of the IHC, headed by Chief Justice Athar Minallah and comprising Justice Mohsin Akhter Kayani, conducted the hearing on the bail petition.
The petitioner’s counsel pleaded that his client required a proper medical treatment due to health issues, as he was currently under treatment in a Karachi hospital and unable to appear before the court.
The chief justice asked as to why the accused wanted a bail when he was already under treatment at the hospital.
To this, the lawyer said his client was not being provided with health facilities as per requirement.
The court, however, served notices on the respondents and also sought a fresh medical report of the accused on the next hearing.
