LAKKI MARWAT: Jamaat-i-Islami chief and Senator Sirajul Haq has said that present judicial system has failed to deliver prompt justice to poor people.
Speaking at a big public meeting in Serai Naurang town here, Sirajul Haq said that the laws inherited from British rule were the main hurdle in provision of justice to the poor people. “The JI will change the judicial system and will make the chief justice to sit in mosque and deliver judgments according to injunctions of Quran if voted to power,” he maintained.
He said that Islamic system had the solution to all problems, asking the people to join hands with JI leadership for enforcing Shariah in the country. “People should support Jamaat-e-Islami if they want to get rid of feudal system which is the root cause of all evils,” he said.
He also said that the JI would provide free health and education facilities and would also provide residential facilities to the homeless people if came into power. Siraj said that uniform curriculum would be introduced in religious seminaries and schools to enable students from poor families to get standard and quality education.
“People will get free treatment for five major diseases,” he stated, adding, that corruption had destroyed the national institutions and there was the dire need to get rid of corrupt politicians.
He asked the people to reject the traditional politicians who always deceived them and did nothing for their betterment and well-being. He said that the JI had honest and pious people in its ranks and that they had the capabilities to serve the nation in a better way.
Other speakers including Mian Muhammad Aslam, provincial finance minister Muzaffar Said, Haji Azizullah Khan, Mufti Irfanullah also spoke on the occasion.
