HEC takes note of poor quality of online courses
Islamabad : The watchdog for higher education has taken note of the complaints about poor quality of online university courses in the country and is ensuring corrective measures.
"Many students have complained about the poor quality of online courses being run by the universities. The HEC has taken notice of this and is endeavouring to improve the quality of online teaching," Federal Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood said in a tweet.
He said the educational authorities would continue to engage with students either through TV or online.
"The Federal Education Ministry will launch a TV channel in early April with lessons for school students," he said.
The minister said the closure of educational institutions across the country by May 31 over the outbreak of coronavirus would be treated as summer vacation.
"If by the grace of the Almighty Allah, the corona problem is resolved, educational institutions will reopen in June," he said.
The National Coordination Committee on the recommendation of the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers had ordered the closure of all educational institutions in the country until the end of May. They include public and private schools, colleges and universities, and seminaries.
