Three people lost their lives while three others were injured in separate incidents in the city on Thursday.
An eight-year-old boy, Ibrar Shahzad, was killed in a traffic accident near Bilal Chowrangi in Korangi. He was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in an injured condition where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Police said the boy was crossing the road when a speedy vehicle hit him.
In another similar incident, a man died and another was wounded in a road accident near Punjab Chowrangi. The casualties were taken to the JPMC. Police said the injured person was identified as Shahid, 24, and the deceased was yet to be identified.
A donkey cart vendor lost his life after his cart fell off the Lyari Expressway due to speeding. The body was kept at a morgue for identification after medico-legal formalities at the Civil Hospital.
Moreover, two policemen were injured in a road accident on Mauripur Road in the Kalri police station limits. The injured cops were taken to the Civil Hospital for medical attention where they were identified Imran Shams, 43, and Akram Khattak, 45, posted to the SITE B Section police station.
