Cop among five injured in firing incidents

Five people, including a Policeman, were injured in separate incidents in different parts of the city on Monday.

The Iqbal Market police said the cop, 28-year-old Kamran Sadiq, was wounded in a firing incident in Orangi Town No. 11. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical attention.

The policeman was shot once in the neck when he attempted to intercept two suspects riding a motorcycle. They shot him once in his leg and managed to escape from the crime scene. In another incident, three people were wounded in a firing incident that took place between a landlord and a tenant in Qazzafi Town. The injured were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical treatment. They were identified as 58-year-old Ayub, his son, 28-year-old Niaz, and Luqman, 23.

The Shah Latif police said they had arrested three persons, Javed, Luqman and Waqar Ahmed. A case has been registered while further investigation was underway. Moreover, a secruity guard was injured in Meerath Society near Super Higwhay. He was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Police said 55-year-old Amir Khan, son of Haji Gul, was injured when another security guard, Abdur Razzaq, accidentally triggered his gun during the cleaning process. Police had detained Razaak for questioning.
