A local court on Thursday granted bail to film actress Meera in a double Nikkah case.
The court had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the actress on July 31 after she failed to appear in a suit filed by her alleged husband Ateequr Rehman. The actress appeared before Judicial Magistrate Wajid Minhas along her counsel on Thursday. The court was requested to grant bail to the actress as she could not appear on the last hearing for being abroad. At this the court directed her to submit Rs50,000 surety bonds. However, the actress was held briefly in the court and allowed to leave after submitting the surety bonds.
