MANSEHRA: The National Highway Authority (NHA) reopened Sathan Galli road to traffic on Wednesday. The artery, which links Konsh valley with Siran valley and hundreds of villages, was blocked to all sorts of traffic because of land-sliding triggered by heavy rains in the region at several places last week. People of various villages had threatened to come onto streets block Karakoram Highway to traffic in protest if Sathan Galli road was not cleared to traffic last week. Wasiur Rehman, a resident, said that NHA had moved machinery to the blocked portions of the road and cleared it. “There was a shortage of foods and eatables in Siran and Konsh valleys but miseries of people would come to an end now with the reopening of this main artery,” he said.
