PESHAWAR: The health experts highlighted the importance of physiotherapy in prevention of disabilities at a function organised on the World Physiotherapy Day here on Tuesday.
Prof Dr Asghar Khan, Illyas Syed, Orthopedic Surgeon Prof Dr M Arif, Dr Javaid Ghani spoke on the occasion. They highlighted the role and importance of physiotherapy and said that it had a vital role in prevention of disabilities.
Chairman Board of Directors, Pakistan Physiotherapy Association (PPTA) Dr Mahboob-ur-Rahman stressed the need for quality health care and increasing the number of physiotherapist at hospitals.
Secretary Health Muhammad Mushtaq Jadoon said physiotherapy facilities had been provided at 25 districts headquarters hospitals. He said equipment had been installed and 20 physiotherapists would be recruited.
