LAHORE:A one-day consultation conference on the Urban Land Record System Enhancement Project was organised by Punjab Land Record Authority at its headquarters office.
World Bank mission and heads of departments participated in the conference. The World Bank mission representatives met with the heads of various departments, including Punjab Land Record Authority Director General Moazzam Iqbal Sipra, Senior Member Board of Revenue Punjab Babar Hayat Tarar for the preparation of the project. Stakeholders’ conference on computerisation of urban land records consisted of two phases.
The World Bank briefed on the progress made in the project so far, including the expected project, various parts of the project, including parcel mapping, procedures and first registration. The participants presented suggestions on expected potential challenges and various solutions to the Urban Land Computerisation Project.
The representatives of the excise and taxation and cooperative department said they had a record of constructed areas and were ready to provide all records. Various aspects of the project were also considered in the workshop. The World Bank Mission emphasised the importance of providing social protection, including the protection of property rights of the people.
The participants said that the conference would be helpful in proposing solutions to potential problems during project preparation.
