CM Mahmood Khan vows to protect KP’s rights
MINGORA: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan categorically stated on Sunday that he was the custodian of provincial rights and would not compromise on it.
Talking to media during his visit to Swat, he said the federal government did not deny to give rights to the province, adding that the prime minister was sincere to province its due rights.
The chief minister said that a uniform developmental approach had been taken for all the districts. However, he added that development of tribal districts and other far-flung areas of the province was the priority of his government.
The chief minister said that comprehensive development planning had been done and efforts were underway to address the issues of general public from all over the province.
Mahmood Khan said that different development projects worth billions of rupees had been approved for Swat, including the establishment of 500-bed hospital, construction of roads in Kalam, Malam Jabba and the expressway.
The land is being arranged for small industrial zone of Swat. Special police force has been regularized and this matter would completely be settled down within next two weeks.
He said that actionable development plan had been devised for Buner, Dir, Shangla, Chitral and Malakand and implementation on various projects has also been initiated.
While responding to a question regarding inflation, the chief minister stated that the incumbent government was well aware of the issues of general public and was striving hard to address these issues as soon as possible.
He made it clear that due to poor policies of previous governments, the nation was facing inflation and other financial issues but, incumbent government was committed to bringing the situation under control.
"This is the only government which not only is taking immediate steps to address the problems but is also working to resolve longstanding issues at national level," he concluded.
