World urged to take notice of brutalities in Held Kashmir

LAHORE:The global powers must take notice of the Indian security forces’ brutalities as they are brutalising unarmed innocent Kashmiris to deprive them of their right to self-determination.

This was stated by wife of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik Ms Mushaal Mullick while addressing a ceremony in connection with Kashmir Day by Human Right & Minorities Affairs Department Punjab, Aiwan-e-Iqbal and a private group of institutions at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, The Mall here on Monday.

Ms Mushaal Mullick said human rights abuse in Indian Held Kashmir are an ongoing issue, which ranges from mass killings, enforced disappearances, torture, rape and sexual abuse to political repression and suppression of freedom of speech of Kashmiri people. The Indian army, Central Reserve Police Force and Border Security Personnel have been orchestrating genocide of Kashmiris and the world powers must play their role in providing a level playing field to Kashmiris to exercise their right to self-determination as per the United Nations Resolutions.

She said that the Indian forces have let lose a reign of terror in the Kashmir Valley as with every passing day the brutality of Indian army on innocent Kashmiris is mounting. She further said that Indian attacks on unarmed innocent Kashmiris are a shameful act and troops have been given full powers and permission to kill and abduct any of the Kashmiris to torture.

Hurriyat leader Mushaal Mullick said that the role of the youth is of paramount importance in highlighting the lingering Kashmir issue. She called upon the youth to effectively use social media platforms to expose Indian forces brutalities and their government’s blatant lies regarding resolution of Kashmir issue. She said that Indian forces have illegally occupies Kashmir and women, children, youths and even elderly are victim of Indian forces.

Minister for Human Rights & Minorities Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine said that the current government is committed to resolution of Kashmir issue. He said that the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan will highlight this issue at every global to get it resolved according to Kashmiris wishes. Chairman of private group of institutions Prof Abdul Manan Khurram said: “We should aware our youths of the unmatched freedom struggle of Kashmiris brethren who are braving brutalities of Indian forces.”.

Parliamentary Secretary of HR Mahindra Pal Singh Mahindra said the UN’s recent report confirmed the Indian aggression in occupied Kashmir. He said the Kashmiris had the right to get independence and India be held accountable for killing hundreds and thousands of innocent people.

Secretary, HR&MA, Dr Arshad Ahmad said that aim of the ceremony was to show solidarity with Kashmiris and remind the international community of its obligation to use its influence over India to resolve this decades’ long conflict.

Renowned Poet Amjad Islam Amjad, analyst Arif Nizami, renowned anchor Suhail Warraich and others also spoke on this occasion. strong message: Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Basharat has appealed to the people of Punjab to express powerful solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers on the Kashmir Solidarity Day, February 5 (tomorrow).

A strong message should be sent to India by organising rallies, seminars, walks and other events led by local public representatives, said the Law Minister while chairing a Kashmir Committee Punjab meeting in the Civil Secretariat on Monday.

Cluster Development Project: Provincial Industries & Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal presided over a meeting at Punjab Small Industries Corporation office on Monday in which Cluster Development Project was comprehensively reviewed. PSIC MD Manzar Javed Ali, UNIDO experts and CID team participated in the meeting. Aslam Iqbal while addressing the participants said that Cluster Development Project was of great importance regarding increasing economic activities, exports, productivity and competitiveness of the province. Technical assistance of UNIDO experts and collaboration of World Bank is provided for the completion of this project. By failing to get desired results of this programme being launched in 2016 is regrettable, he added. This project will be made meaningful and result-oriented by making due consultation with all the stakeholders. This important public interest project should be expeditiously moved forward and I want positive results out of it, he stated. All stakeholders should deem this project a challenge and work forward as a team and directed that traders and industrialists should also be taken into confidence with regard to development of cluster development programme.
