Cop among four injured in firing incidents
PESHAWAR: A police constable was wounded when his weapon went off accidentally while three other persons sustained injuries in a firing incident over encroachment dispute in the crowded Shafi Market in Saddar bazaar on Wednesday. Police said that Constable Farooq was slightly injured when he received a bullet on his foot after his weapon went off mistakenly.
The constable was deployed with a polio team in the limits of the Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station.
Meanwhile, two parties clashed over the issue of encroachment outside a plaza in Shafi Market.
Sources said that Javed and another person from one party opened fire. As a result, three persons identified as Abu Bakar, Ikram and Yasir were wounded in the firing.
They were taken to a hospital for medical cover. Police said that raids were being conducted to arrest the accused.
