Mahatir reaches McDonald’s National Tennis semis
KARACHI: Mahatir Mohammad reached the Under-18 singles semi-final at the 5th McDonald’s National Tennis Championship at D. A Creek Club here on Wednesday.
Mahatir defeated Taha Aman 7-6, 6-2 in the quarter-final.
Meanwhile, Ibrahim Nouman hammered Musa Akhund 4-2, 8-6, Munir Darbari thrashed Bilal Chapra 4-0, 4-0, Nadir Mirza smashed Kashan Tariq 4-1, 4-1, Hamid Israr defeated Ibrahim Sajjad 4-0, 4-0, and Ali Mehdi got walkover against Ahmed Ahsan in the first round of Under-14 singles.
In the first round of Under-10 singles, Hamza Tahir overpowered Abbas Habib 4-2, 4-2, while Hadi Mehmood defeated Eizer Asif 4-0, 4-1.
In the first round of 35 plus singles, Nomi Qamar thrashed Asif Ahmed 8-1, Rameez Ansari beat Ali Imam 8-4, Razi Nawab defeated Zeeshan Qureshi 8-4, and Reza Ali Mirza beat Amir Qamar 8-2.
