LAHORE
University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Friday announced the result of Entrance Test 2015 for admission to medical and dental colleges of Punjab.
A total of 46,885 candidates appeared in the Entrance Test held on August 30 out of which 19,283 scored 60 percent and above marks. About 6891 scored 50 to 59 percent whereas 6,490 candidates secured 40 to 49 percent marks. A total of 1,4221 candidates scored less than 40 percent marks.
It is pertinent to mention that according to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s regulations, the pass/fail criteria has been abolished for the medical colleges’ entrance test.
Noor-us-Sabah Ahmad d/o Nadeem Ahmad from Lahore got the first position securing 1,076/1,100 marks whereas Muhammad Hassan Naveed s/o Muhammad Naveed Akhtar of Lahore and Samabia Javed d/o Javed Iqbal of Faisalabad bagged second and third position by securing 1,065/1,100 and 1,059/1,100 marks respectively.
The UHS spokesperson said the eligible candidates would compete for 3,405 MBBS and 216 BDS seats in 20 public sector medical and dental colleges respectively. The admission forms for government medical and dental colleges will be available from October 01 to October 10. All those candidates who have secured 82 percent and above aggregate marks according to Pakistan Medical and Dental Council’s formula will be eligible to apply for admission on open merit basis.
The first selection list will be displayed on October 30 whereas classes in all public sector medical colleges of Punjab will commence on November 16.

In a press statement issued on Friday, they said some unidentified persons on Thursday night around 10:00pm attacked the Warden House No 17, the residence of Dr Alam, and damaged cars of his guests parked outside his house. They said the government must take all-out measures to ensure peace on campus and should take action against the culprits who had been involved in creating law and order on campus in the past. The ASA office-bearers called upon Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to immediately take notice of hooliganism and expel the elements from Punjab University.
