CM Mahmood Khan administers oath to PPC office-bearers

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Monday administered the oath to the newly-elected office-bearers of the Peshawar Press Club (PPC).

He also provided grant-in-aid cheque for Rs 15 million to the PPC representatives, said an official handout. Speaking at the ceremony, the chief minister stated that the PPC annual grant had been increased from Rs 3 million to Rs 6 million whereas steps were underway to resolve the issue of a new building for the club. Mahmood Khan said all the promises made with the journalist community were being fulfilled, adding the issue of the media colony would be resolved as per the desires of the community. He said the KP government had always welcomed constructive criticism by journalists. However, he hoped journalists would also highlight the government initiatives for the public wellbeing.

The chief minister said the government was making all efforts to resolve the issues of journalist community, assuring the grant for press clubs of the newly merged tribal districts would be released soon.
