Chaudhry Sarwar lauds services of outgoing Italian envoy
LAHORE:Ambassador of Italy in Pakistan Stefano Pontecorvo Monday held a farewell meeting with Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar.
During the meeting at the Governor’s House, Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar appreciated the services rendered by Stefano Pontecorvo as Ambassador to Pakistan and also congratulated him on his appointment as Senior Representative of NATO in Afghanistan. The governor said that in the war against terrorism Pakistan had rendered sacrifices which have no precedence in the world. “Despite the war hysteria of India, Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan is working for peace. Pakistan is also playing an active role in peace in Afghanistan as it not only wanted peace in Afghanistan but also in the entire region for which the settlement of the Kashmir issue as per the UNO resolutions is indispensible and the Narendra Modi government must stop aggression against the Muslims of India,” he added.
He said that the world community should play its role in the settlement of Kashmir issue and also take strict notice of Indian government’s atrocities against Muslims. Stefano Pontecorvo said that Pakistan’s sacrifices against terrorism and restoration of peace were highly commendable. Relations between Italy and Pakistan are getting strong with every passing day, he added.
