KARACHI: The training camp of Pakistan senior hockey team is likely to begin in the middle of February. The senior team will participate in Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament from April 11-18 in Malaysia. The seniors are also to participate in Asia Cup Champions Trophy in November in Bangladesh.
The junior team is to take part in Junior Asia Cup 2020, which is scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in June. The juniors training camp was suspended one week before its scheduled time due to T20 series in Lahore as Qaddafi Stadium and National hockey stadium are situated side by side.
Sources said that the final date of the juniors camp is to be decided keeping in view its international schedule. The PHF is trying to arrange test matches series with various Asian and European junior teams, including Japan, South Korea, Germany, Netherlands France, and Belgium for the preparation of Junior Asia Cup 2020. The juniors have had little exposure since they missed Junior World Cup in 2016.
