Islamabad: A condolence reference was held in the memory of late Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal at Islamabad Hotel on Thursday, says a press release.
Addressing as keynote speaker, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Division Barrister Zafarullah Khan lauded the services and achievements of late Prince Saud al-Faisal.
He said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong economic, cultural and religious ties. Barrister Zafarullah Khan recalled that late Prince Saud al-Faisal as a person of moderate temperament and always in favour of good relations among Muslim states, adding that late Prince Saud al-Faisal was also in favour of good ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan said that late Prince Saud al-Faisal was against the drone attacks on Pakistan.
He went on to say that Prince Saud al-Faisal was his country’s sane voice during many crises and conflicts in Middle East. Late Prince Saud al-Faisal always supported Palestine cause.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan said that it was great honour for late Prince Saud al-Faisal that he had been Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia for 40 years and had an exemplary experience of running the foreign affairs.
In the end, he prayed Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in peace. The Condolence Reference was organised by Shah Faisal Welfare Trust.
