CDA issues last warning to inquiry officers

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) management has taken notice of delay in finalisation of inquiries against various officers and issued final warning to the inquiry officers for early finalisation of inquiry proceedings failing which stern action would be taken against them.
The CDA management also took notice of the non-provision of relevant record to the inquiry officers and directed the concerned formations for immediate provision of relevant record.
The CDA management has also decided that those officers who are delaying the inquiries, as they are on the verge of retirement, their pension and retirement benefits would be withheld till the completion of inquiries. All inquiry officers have been warned to finalise the inquiry proceedings at the earliest to avoid any departmental action against them.
Sources said that in some cases, the inquiries have been completed months back but no show-cause notices have been issued to those held responsible in the final report.
Meanwhile, the CDA management has directed all formations of the authority to improve and strengthen the public complaint redressal mechanism to address the genuine problems of citizens in an effective manner. The heads of all formations-directorates have been directed to allocate exclusive time to address their respective complaints at the directorate level.
Meanwhile, the CDA spokesman said the One-Window Operations Directorate, which was established to facilitate public in their issues related to land and estate, has been upgraded on modern lines in order to serve public more efficiently. The urgent case facility has been restored, which would not only help dispose of cases on urgent basis, but would also lead to generation of handsome amount.
Furthermore, he said that standard operating procedures (SOPs) have been finalised for early disposal of cases and all wings have been directed to observe the time-frame given to the applicants. Moreover, new information technology system has also been designed for disposal of cases related to transfer of property, building plans of Estate Management Directorate and Building Control Section, which would be used at One-Window Operation Directorate to facilitate the residents of Islamabad.
