SUKKUR: Five people, including the mother along with her two children, was burnt alive in a fire while another woman sustained fire injuries in Thatta.
On Thursday morning, in village Muhammed Hassan Mondho near the Workshop area, a fire broke out from a candle in the house of villager Nizam Manchary when the inmates were sleeping in their Katcha hut.
Local people, witnessing smoke rising from the house, immediately moved towards the scene. The family members also could not find their way out of the house. The villagers after two hours of hectic efforts doused the fire and found three family members burnt to death and two in critical condition. Shabana, w/o Muhammed Hassan, her five-year-old son Hasnain and daughter Sohana were among the dead while Safoora, the mother of the deceased woman and her brother Saddam, were among the injured. Both later died in a Karachi hospital.
According to the CTD spokesman, the two were attempting to enter Punjab from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
