Light rain in capital today as mercury drops to zero
Islamabad: With the mercury plunging to the freezing point yet again on Friday causing biting cold, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast light rainfall and cloudy weather for Islamabad today (Saturday).
This is the lowest temperature reported in the federal capital during the current winter season. On December 27, 2019, and January 12, 2020, too, the temperature had dropped to zero degree Centigrade.
According to the PMD, a shallow westerly wave affecting north Balochistan is likely to persist during the next 24 hours. On Saturday, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.
However, cloudy weather with light rain and snowfall over mountain is expected at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Islamabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas during morning hours.
