Students asked to play role in eradication of corruption
LAHORE: Students have been appealed to play an active role in eradicating corruption from society by reporting the misconducts and fraudulent activities through the mobile application of the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE).
The appeal to the students was made by Sahiwal ACE Regional Director Mehar Shafqatullah Mushtaq while addressing a seminar on corruption at University of Okara. He also applauded the role of the regional universities in spreading awareness among the people against corruption.
“If you have to change the culture of a society, establish a university over there. Corruption cannot be eliminated without awareness and awareness is emanated from universities,” said Shafqatullah. The event was also attended by Renala Assistant Commissioner Ms Qudsia Naz, Okara ACE Deputy Director Ashfaqur Rehman Khan, Okara ACE Assistant Director Amir Sultan Khan and Circle Officer Mian Nawab Hussain.
They appraised the students of certain initiatives taken by the ACE. The event was organised by Director Student Affairs Dr Shoaib Saleem. A large number of students and journalists also attended the seminar. The Renala AC said accountability could be strengthened if the educated youths became part of the anti-corruption initiatives.
