Rangers arrest 16 more suspects
The paramilitary force announced the arrests of another 16 suspected criminals, including robbers, in raids conducted in various parts of the city on Wednesday.
The spokesman for the Sindh Rangers said that soldiers conducted raids in Nazimabad and Chakiwara, and arrested four men, who were identified as Muhammad Asad, Muhammad Danish, Rashid and Ali Maviya. The suspects were alleged to be involved in a number of extortion cases in different parts of the city.
In Ferozeabad and Kharadar, Farhan, Abdul Khalique and Mushtaq Khosa were apprehended on charges of involvement in street crime cases. The paramilitary force also conducted raids in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Al-Falah, Model Colony, Nazimabad and Ferozeabad areas, where they took into custody nine people.
The suspects were identified as Abdul Bari, Sher Rehman, Rahim Khan, Jannat Gul, Shehroz Rao, Irfan, Kamran Ahmed, Muhammad Iqbal and Muhammad Akbar. They were alleged to be involved in drug peddling and running drug dens in their areas. The paramilitary force has been spearheading a targeted operation in Karachi since September 2013.
