3,771 proclaimed Islam at Dubai centre last year
DUBAI: As part of its commitment to promote tolerant values of Islam in Dubai, Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced the proclamation of 3,771 new Muslims in 2019, foreign media reported.
Hind Mohammed Lootah, Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture, said that the centre continues its efforts, with IACAD’s continued support, to spread Islamic culture and humanitarian values among society. This heightened awareness among residents has led to an increase in proclamation of Islam, compared to last year. Lootah reported that the centre is enabling new Muslims to learn more about tolerance in Islam, which will boost the religious and social aspects of their new journey.
Hanaa Abdullah Al Jallaf, Head of New Muslims Care Section, said that the centre provides several services to new Muslims, starting with financial and emotional support in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the country. Al Jallaf noted that financial support is in cooperation with the Zakat Fund of Abu Dhabi, and adheres to set standards and terms. The centre also facilitates marriage procedures in cooperation with Dubai Courts, according to Al Jallaf.
