‘Weather conditions causing diseaes’

BAHAWALPUR: Health specialist Prof Dr Javed Iqbal has urged people to adopt precautionary measures to save them from dangers to health due to weather conditions.

Talking to journalists here, he said that climate change and weather conditions had causes dangers to health. He said that several diseases related to respiratory system had been reported at large scale due to weird weather condition during last few days.He said that rains and biting weather had become major cause of respiratory diseases. “Patients suffering from cold, flue and fever were being brought to hospitals which caused from weather conditions,” he said. He said that people could save them from diseases by adopting precautionary measures. “People should not come out of home without compulsory cause as biting cold weather and rains had been causing diseases,” he added.

Three drug peddlers arrested: The police have arrested three drug pushers and recovered liquor, hashish and weapon from their possession.

A spokesman for Bahawalpur police said here that acting on a tip-off, the police conducted raid at den and took three suspects into custody. He further said that the police recovered 20 litres liquor, 500 grams hashish and a rifle from the possession of the suspects. The police have registered a case against the accused, he added.

Rain: The city and its adjoining areas received light rain on Monday which turned weather more biting.The Met Office has forecast cloudy and cold weather with chances of more rain for Bahawalpur during next 24 hours.
