PESHAWAR: The residents of Pajaggi here on Monday staged a protest against the suspension of natural gas supply to the village since the start of the winter season and threatened to stage a sit-in outside the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) offices if the issue was not resolved immediately.

The protesters led by former councillor Abdul Wajid Khan, former village council nazim Malik Mujahid Khan, Malik Ebad Ali and others staged the protest outside the Peshawar Press Club.

Carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans condemning the complete suspension of the gas supply to Pajaggi and other surrounding villages, the angry protesters torched the gas bills to vent anger.

They vowed to stage a sit-in outside the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) regional office in Hayatabad if the uninterrupted supply of gas was not restored forthwith. Asking the SNGPL officials to look into the matter, the protesters alleged that some SNGPL officials were responsible for the suspension of gas to the village.
