Karachi University alumnus Mohammad Feroze Moosani, who is running a business in the United States of America, on Monday launched a ‘Professor Dr M H Qazi Scholarship Program’
for students enrolled in the varsity.
The scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students of the Physiology Department, Karachi University. Every year two top position holders will receive the scholarships.
According to the memorandum of understanding that Moosani has inked with Karachi University officials, the candidates will get an annual stipend of Rs120,000 and Rs30,000 per annum on account of semester fees. The Student’s Financial Aid Office will nominate the candidates for scholarships, while the vice chancellor would constitute a committee. After scrutiny of the applications, the committee will recommend deserving candidates.
As per the MoU, the scholarship would be awarded for the entire degree programme of four-year BSc (H) as well as for the Masters programme. The selection of the aspiring candidates would be completed in the first year of the degree programme, keeping their need for this scholarship as the primary selection criteria.
