ISLAMABAD: The European Union envoy on Friday said the block wishes to further increase cooperation between the EU and Pakistan and also to help assure that the commonly agreed objectives are met.
Androulla Kaminara, ambassador of the European Union De called on Asad Umar, minister for planning, development and special initiative in Islamabad. She explained various EU funded projects in various fields including education, vocational training, human rights, etc.
Ambassador said she is keenly looking forward to working closely with Pakistan in order to promote shared EU- Pakistan objectives. She highlighted the priorities of EU in the social sector; and said that climate change and digitalization are also the top priorities of EU in next seven year agenda.
Minister Umar said the financial inclusion and true empowerment of youth related projects, primary health and primary education, and climate change sectors are the top priority sector of the government.
He said the ministry will extend all possible facilitate to all international donor agencies for effective execution of the development projects under SDGs framework.
Umar urged for further cooperation and financial participation in EU funded development projects for their speedy and timely completion.
