Mansehra admin begins supplying subsidised flour
MANSEHRA: The Food Department has started mobile supply of flour on subsidised prices across the district following the prices of a 20kg bag hiked by Rs13 in the market.
The flour, being marketed here from Punjab, is being sold at Rs65 per kg while government in accordance with its order would sell it on Rs40 per kg across the district.
The shortage of wheat flour is also being reported in parts of Baffa-Pakhal, Balakot and Oghi tehsils and even in urban parts of Mansehra.
An official order issued by the district food controller stated that on the special directives of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Minister Qalandar Lodhi, the flour mills in the district that were already supplied with wheat quota on subsidised prices would ensure mobile supply of flour in various localities on a daily basis through trucks.
“The flourmills of the district have arranged daily supply of subsidised wheat Atta of 20kg bag to the general public through trucks at the price of Rs800,” the order said.
It further said that the deputy commissioner was also taken on board before finalising schedule of mobile supply of flour to people through trucks.
According to the schedule, the mills would supply/sell subsidised flour through trucks at various points in the city and its suburbs, such as College Doraha, Shinkiari, Baffa, Oghi, Balakot, Garhi Habibullah, Lassan Nawab, Pulrah, Barkund, Khawajgan and Khaki on alternative days.
Man arrested over child abuse charge
The police have arrested a man who allegedly abused a minor family member and captured the immoral act through his cell phone camera.
“The police should take to justice the accused under the strict relevant laws as such cases of child abuse are on the rise here,” Mohsan Shah Advocate, who pleaded the case of the victim minor girl in the court, told reporters on Thursday.
A resident of Bisham town in Shangla had approached police stating that he had left his daughter, 5, with his sister settled here last month
but her husband Mohammad Faisal made an immoral video of his daughter with his mobile phone camera.
“When I took my daughter back home, she narrated what had happened to her,” said the father of the victim girl. The police raided and residence of the accused after lodging a first information report (FIR) and seized the mobile phone with which video had been made.
The FIR was registered under sections 376, 511 and 53 CPA and 367 of the PPC and the accused was arrested.
Mohsan Shah Advocate said accused sexually abused the victim and captured the crime through his mobile phone camera. He said police seized videos during a raid at his residence here.
