Eight check posts will be established on the entry points of Lahore to check the supply of unwholesome meat.
This was revealed by Lahore Division Commissioner Abdullah Khan Sumbal while addressing a meeting under his chairpersonship Tuesday. These check posts would be functional 24 hours and training for the duty officials has been completed. The commissioner said there was no compromise on the sale of dead and diseased meat. The meeting was briefed that check posts would be established near New Ravi Bridge, Old Ravi Bridge, Muhafiz Town, Babu Sabu, Khayaban-e-Jinnah, Thokar Niaz Baig and Gajjumattta. The commissioner said an awareness campaign would play a key role to curb the illicit business. Lahore DCO in the meeting said the administration was going to start an awareness campaigns in all towns of Lahore within two days and toll free number and WhatsApp number be circulated to get information, complaints and feedback from public.
