CTD cop among 3 killed in Lakki firing incidents

LAKKI MARWAT: Three persons, including a cop of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), were killed in separate firing incidents in the district on Wednesday, police said.

They said that cop of the CTD, Hanifullah, along with his brother, Najibullah, was coming out of his home when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in Landiwa in the limits of Dadiwala Police Station.

As a result, the cop was killed on the spot while his brother sustained injuries.

The dead and injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Serai Naurang.

Superintendent of Police, CTD, Tahir Khan Wazir also visited the hospital to inquire after the health of injured. He expressed sympathies with the relatives over the murder of the CTD cop.

The police registered the case on the report of the injured, Najibullah, against the accused, Moatabar Khan and Naseer Wahab and started investigation.

Meanwhile, unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on Kalimullah and Tahir Jan at Ghaznikhel village, leaving them dead.

Their bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital in Lakki Marwat for medico-legal formalities.

The police registered the case and started investigation. The motive behind the killings was stated to be an old enmity.
