Director Sindh ACE removed within 12 days of his posting

KARACHI: The Sindh government has removed director of Sindh Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) within 12 days of his posting.

Police officer Usman Ghani was posted as Director Establishment in provincial Anti-Corruption watchdog on January 2, 2020 contradicting with the rules of Sindh government, Supreme Court orders and the recommendations of Sindh Inspector General, removed from his position on January 14, (Tuesday).

Sohail Qureshi, an officer of Provincial Service, has been assigned to look after charge of Director ACE in addition to his own duties.

According to the documentary evidences available with The News Ghani a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) served as a Director in same department ACE for three years and two months and after completion of period of his deputation in December 2019 sent back to his parent department Sindh Police where on December 31, 2019 Sindh IGP Dr Kaleem Imam recommended to surrender his services to federal government.

According to the Sindh government services rules any officer could be posted for three years to other department on deputation if he meets with the required criteria. On the other hand Supreme Court in its order also had declared that no Police officer could be posted second time in Sindh ACE.

Sindh government, despite the service rules, Supreme Court order and Sindh IGP recommendations, again posted Ghnai at Sindh ACE due to his reported political backing.
