CM Mahmood Khan wants digitisation strategy accelerated
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Friday directed the officials concerned to accelerate digitisation strategy for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
“The incumbent government is introducing digitisation in all departments, which will be an important step towards digital Pakistan initiative,” the chief minister told a meeting regarding the Digitisation Strategy for KP government at Chief Minister’s House Peshawar.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Digital Pakistan Vision campaign Ms Tania Idrees, Finance Minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, Advisor to CM on ST&IT Ziaullah Bangash, Chief Secretary Kazim Niaz and others.
The chief minister said that the PTI government was introducing reforms in all departments to improve service delivery, adding that digitisation of government affairs would substitute the traditional and outdated system in the province, which would not only save time but would also improve efficiency.
The meeting was briefed in detail regarding digitisation strategy for the KP government. It was told that by digitising the traditional government system, all official correspondence would be dealt through an application of advance Technology which would not only improve the efficiency and performance but will also enhance service delivery and feedback.
It was told that through digitisation the government official affairs will become paperless rendering the file system useless. The meeting was informed that the process of digitisation would be completed in different phases starting from digitisation of summaries for the chief minister.
Similarly, official correspondence, memorandum, office orders, notifications and all other matters of the government officials will be digitised in a phase-wise manner which would increase efficiency in official work.
In the first phase, the process of digitization was being prepared for all the administrative secretaries and departments while in the second phase a road map will be formulated for the digitization of all the provincial departments. The chief minister said that digitising the government affairs was the requirement of the contemporary world.
In the first instance, he said, steps would be initiated for the digitisation of Chief Minister Secretariat to expedite official’s matters through a modern technological way thereby increasing efficiency in services delivery.
He further stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa digitisation initiative would be a role model for the rest of the provinces. He clarified that digitisation strategy would be made possible in the province to materialise the vision of Digital Pakistan Initiative.
