Sirajul Haq demands panel to fix responsibility of pushing Pakistan into US war
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Senator Sirajul Haq has welcomed prime minister Imran Khan’s statement that Pakistan would no more become part of other’s war.
A high level commission should be formed to fix responsibility on those who threw country into US war that caused county to suffer over 75000 lives and $120 billion losses to economy, he said while addressing media at Quetta on Friday at the end of his 5-day visit to Balochistan, says a press release from Mansoorah.
Siraj also warned that a conspiracy was being carried out to rig 2023 elections and get desired results. It was the sole reason that masses lost trust on the election process and democracy in the country.
He demanded the need to hold free and fair polls had become inevitable to save the country from civil war and put on the track of development. Highlighting the deprivation of the people of Balochistan, he said the past and present governments never made serious efforts to address the issues of the biggest province which was bestowed with rich natural resources.
He said the unemployment, poverty, corruption and nepotism had taken deep roots in the province. The people were worried about the overall situation but the ruling elite seemed least interested to address their plight, he said.
About the missing person issue, Sirajul Haq lamented that no serious efforts were made for the recovery of the persons so far. He warned the government against rising public sentiments over the issue of the missing persons. He assured the people of Balochistan that JI would raise their voice for the rights at every forum.
