Javeria, Anam power PCB Blasters to victory
KARACHI: Javeria Rauf and Anam Amin helped PCB Blasters record their second successive victory when they overpowered PCB Challengers by 12 runs in their match of the National Triangular Twenty20 Women Cricket Championship here at the National Stadium on Friday.
PCB Blasters set a 155-run target for Bismah Maroof-led Challengers after Ramin Shamim chose to bat first. Javeria cracked a 40-ball 57, hammering eight fours and a six. She put on a 62-run stand for the second wicket with opener Ayesha Naseem, who scored 31 from 20 balls, smacking three sixes and a four.
Aliya Riaz scored 29 off 27 balls, cracking four fours. Fatima Sana picked 2-25 while Aimen Anwar, Aroob Shah and Saba Nazir got one wicket each. Challengers were then restricted to 142-9. Muneeba Ali struck 50 off 36 balls, hammering three fours and three sixes.
Hafsa Khalid made 24. Anam Amin picked 3-14. Captain Ramin and Tooba Hasan got two wickets each. Javeria and Anam were jointly declared players of the match. The third match of the event will be held on Saturday (today) between PCB Dynamites and PCB Challengers.
