RAWALPINDI: In an ambush, unknown bike riding gunmen opened firing at a sub-inspector of Sadiqabad Police Station at Transformer Chowk Sunday night. The victim has been shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in critical condition, police said. The assailants managed to escape from the scene. SI Mohammad Ashraf left police station for his home in the late evening. At Transformer Chowk, two bike riders intercepted him and opened fire at him and fled. A bullet penetrated in his neck turning him into critical condition. The SI was engaged in investigation of high profile cases which could be reason of attack, the police said.
