LGH made patient-friendly

LAHORE:Following the vision of Prime Ministry Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar to provide better healthcare facilities to every person, the Lahore General Hospital (LGH) administration has converted it into patient-friendly hospital.

Briefing about the performance and services during the previous year, the Principal PGMI/LGH Prof Al-Fareed Zafar said Wednesday that 2,294,793 patients arrived in emergency and outdoor last year. People and government employees benefitted from evening outdoor shift in the hospital.

On the direction of Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid the LGH is providing treatment and diagnostic facilities to the patients without fee slip. MS Dr Mahmood Salahuddin, Director Emergency Dr Rana M Shafiq and other administrator officers were also present on this occasion. He said that PGMI Punjab was only attached department of LGH in the country where doctors come from all provinces of country, Azad Jammu and Kashmir for specialisation and students were equipped with the latest research being done in the field of medicine in the world so that these future doctors could treat patients in a perfect manner.

Talking about this annual report, Principal Prof Sardar Muhammad Alfred Zafar said the hospital had the honour of delivering therapeutic facilities to a record number of patients, which was a reflection of the vision given by the Punjab government. He said that besides patients their relatives were also provided rest and Panahgah facilities. Prof Al-Freed Zafar said that diagnostic facilities were also provided to millions of outdoor patients while doctors and medical staff had performed brilliantly in the year 2019. He expressed hope that LGH would show better performance in 2020 than last year. Medical facilities will be continued at this historic hospital for discriminating citizens. Principal LGH briefed about the annual report of Lahore General Hospital that 86,278 patients were admitted in Indoor department, 1,397,315 outpatients were treated last year while 897,478 persons were taken to the hospital in emergency.
